Appomattox Manor Roof Replacement

National Park Service property Appomattox Manor is located near Hopewell, Virginia was built around 1751, but is best remembered as General Ulysses Grant Headquarters during the later part of the Civil War. Black Creek Workshop restored the roof with a cypress wood shingle roof replacement. Work included manufacture and installation of 60sq. 100% heartwood quarter sawn shingles with 19 dormer windows, 3 open valleys, one fanned hip and all swept valleys for the dormer window roofs. Work also included all of the lead coated copper flashing work necessary to seals all windows, chimneys and other roof penetrations.
